How to make a flower essence

A flower essence is a wonderfully subtle form of medicine, which is safe for children, people on medications, and also during pregnancy.  Essentially they are spring water, infused with the energetic principles of a specific flower, and then preserved with a small amount of brandy.  Not to be confused with essential oils, flower essences have no colour or fragrance. They are purely energetic or vibrational medicine!

Making your own essences can be a really fun experience, and easy enough to let the kids be involved. I do suggest you find out if the flowers you want to use are poisonous first! and get a solid ID on them prior to use..  But outside of that, just about any flower can be used, and often you will find that you will resonate with a particular flower.. learn about it!  Identify it and spend some time with it.. you never know what medicine it might want to bring you…

Today I picked a heap of buttercups that were growing right outside my door at home.  Buttercup flower essence, with not much surprise,  will help to restore the inner child, and bring playfulness and sweetness back to the soul. Flower essence remedies work on the subtle energy fields of the body, and are particularly excellent at healing the emotions… Flower essences are made by carefully plucking the flower heads and placing them into a clear glass vessel which has been filled with spring water. (Be sure you have no contaminants such as insects, or other plant material!) The vessel is then placed on the ground near the parent plant, and left in the sun to infuse for a few hours.  This solar extraction enables the specific vibration of the flowers to transfer into the Spring water, where the frequency memory is held. The flowers are then extracted from the potion with a twig or small branch (try not to take them out by hand), and the essence is poured into bottles which are half filled with brandy (which acts a preservative only) …

A Standard dose of a flower essence is 4drops, 4x per day, which can be taken directly under the tongue, or dropped into a glass full of water and sipped at intervals.

Flower Medicine is a beautiful medicine.. why not give it a go?
